Park Shin Hye in upcoming Taiwanese drama ‘Hayate the Combat Butler’

Korean actress Park Shin Hye will be starring in upcoming Taiwanese drama ‘Hayate the Combat Butler‘ along with actress Goo Hye Sun. The drama will be a Taiwanese remake of a Japanese manga by Kenjiro Hata. Park Shin Hye’s popularity level rose greatly in Taiwan when the drama ‘You’re Beautiful‘ was aired in the country. She has also garnered even more popularity when she held fan meetings in Taiwan.
The drama will be about a boy named Hayate who serves as a butler, bodyguard, and friend to a girl named Nagi just so he could pay back his debt. Park Shin Hye will have the role as Nagi while Hayate will be portrayed by George Hu.

CNN to hold exclusive interview with Kim Hyun Joong on the success of ‘Playful Kiss’

 

With the ongoing release of special episodes for ‘Playful Kiss’ via Youtube, the drama has been gaining worldwide attention even after the completion of the drama. American news channel CNN has picked up on the international sensation, and offered to conduct an exclusive review on its success. Main star Kim Hyun Joong will be interviewed for the special coverage, as well as Group Eight Publisher Song Byung Joon, and Google Director Seo Hwang Wook.
It was reported that the interviewer will be one of CNN’s main anchors, Anna Core, who will be asking Kim Hyun Joong about the success of ‘Playful Kiss’, as well as his thoughts on acting alongside female lead, Jung So Min.
Additionally, Anna Core will be asking producer Song Byung Joon about his secret know-hows for successful productions. She will also seek informed answers from the Google Director about the impact of the special web episodes.
CNN became greatly interested in ‘Playful Kiss’, ever since the first Youtube special episode received over 520,000 views in just two days after its release.
As of the 5th, the first special episode has received 768,591 views, while the 2nd episode recorded 438,178 hits – totaling to a whopping 1,756,175 views in such a short span of time.
Even the comments replying to ‘Playful Kiss’ episodes alone reached over 3,400 posts. The comments aren’t just made by Korean fans either, as there have been numerous contributions in English, Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, and French. Youtube has been collaborating with subbing community Viikii in order to respond to the demand of international fans by subbing in various  languages.
Song Byung Joon stated, “We were able to realize through the comments and views of the special episodes that even content which is only aired in Korea gain an incredible amount of worldwide fans. It has been very helpful, being able to break the cultural barrier and communicate with, as well as listen to, the responses of our worldwide fans in real-time.”
Lee Wonji, the President of Google Korea, also expressed, “Youtube has become the #1 largest worldwide online video site where, for example, albums of famous Korean artists are revealed first. Many national broadcast producers have already gained interest in Youtube due to the success of ‘Playful Kiss’. Since Youtube will always be open for use, we hope that more national producers take advantage of this global platform.”

Lee Min Ho Works Out His Body for “City Hunter”

 


“Pretty Boy” Lee Min Ho has begun his project to create the best body.
Next year, Lee Min Ho will appear in the upcoming SBS drama “City Hunter” as the main male lead, and will start his training for the drama.
In this drama, Lee Min Ho will be playing Kang Jin who is a problem solver. The plot from the original manga (written and illustrated by Hojo Tsukasa) is about a man named Ryo Saeba who’s a womanizer and helps beautiful ladies with their problems, but he’s also known to be a great fighter who can defeat anyone with his bare hands. He also creates a special unit of foreign members in Tokyo.
In the 2011 drama version, the location will be held in Seoul and Kang Jin will be a former CIA member. Although the background of the character may be different, the original role of the character will not change.
Lee Min Ho is preparing himself to create a whole new look for his new character, Kang Jin. Lee Min Ho last appeared on MBC drama “Personal Taste” and had been taking care of his body since then, but for “City Hunter,” he will be exercising more than ever to create a whole new body that will live up to his character. It has been almost a month already.
In the manga, there’s a scene where the main character starts to lift weights as a warm up routine which is one of the reasons why Lee Min Ho will be focusing on weight lifting.
Lee Min Ho also promised his fans on his transformation, “There will be many opportunities for me to create a healthy body, and I will do my best to work for it.”
Lee Min Ho earned the title of being a pretty boy since he appeared in “Boys Over Flowers,” and in the future, he might even earn the title of having the “Best Body” for appearing on “City Hunter.”

Lee Min-ho wins more hearts with "Personal Taste"

Actor Lee Min-ho, who made his name known throughout Asia last year through mega-hit Korean TV series "Boys over Flowers", is further solidifying his star status in the region with his latest drama "Personal Taste".

Personal Taste broadcasting copyrights has been sold at “unprecedented prices” to several countries in Asia including Hong Kong and Thailand. His agency Starhaus Entertainment said Friday that "Personal Taste", a story about a young architect pretending to be gay to live with a woman who wanted a male gay friend, is currently shown in Taiwan, Singapore and Hong Kong and will start airing in Japan and Thailand next month. It will air in the Philippines this November 08, 2010 on ABS-CBN station in primetime spot.

Lee Min Ho "Personal Taste" sells also to 3rd world countries. According to an industry source, the MBC Wednesday-Thursday drama has been sold to United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Jordan, Venezuela and Mexico. Lee is already popular in Thailand -- "Personal Taste" has yet to air there but was sought by over 120 media outlets for interviews during his recent visit to the country on October 16.

The actor and the drama has also graced the covers of the November edition of various Hallyu (Korean Wave) magazines in Japan.
"Despite the difficulty of running a promotional event for the drama we still receive an overwhelming number of demands for interviews in Japan, not just from Hallyu magazines but from fashion magazines, women's magazines and other media outlets", said the Japanese agency managing Lee's career in the country.

Lee, 23, debuted on the screen in 2006 but got his big break through "Boys over Flowers" last year which also starred actress Ku Hye-sun and actor Kim Hyun-joong.

In MBC series "Personal Taste" which aired in Korea in March of this year, Lee played the main male character opposite Korean actress Son Ye-jin.

Lee, also a promotional ambassador for UNICEF's LOVE NET campaign, will visit Japan on November 11 to attend a charity concert titled "Love & Peace" hosted by the United Nations. He will provide the narration for a video at the event on people living in regions hit by severe earthquakes.

Next year, Lee is set to star in a new SBS drama series "City Hunter" whose story is adapted from a Japanese comic series from the 80s. Lee will take on the role of a private detective who saves the city.

Lee Minho releases iPhone app for fans

Actor Lee Minho’s popularity is booming all over Asia. His “Personal Taste” drama has already begun airing in Taiwan, Singapore, and Hong Kong, and will begin broadcasting in Japan and Thailand next month. On a recent visit to Thailand, Minho was apparently bombarded with interview requests from 120 different media companies.
Being in such hot demand, it’s only naturally that the star gets his own app.
The “Lee Minho app” will allow his legions of Korean and international fans to converse more easily through Twitter. His Facebook page alone has 1,350,000 fans while his Twitter has 120,000 followers. To top it all off, the app will be free for download!
Meanwhile, Lee Minho will be returning in 2011 as a sexy hunter with SBS’s new drama, “City Hunter.”
