City Hunter's Lee Min Ho, a marksman with 100% accuracy rate

Actor LMH shows off his excellent firing skills during Thailand filming for SBS's new Wed-Thurs drama 'City Hunter', which will start broadcasting on the 25th.
According to the production company on the 11th, LMH demonstrated excellent shooting skills, causing an excitement in the local filming atmosphere earlier in Thailand.
In order to show a new side for his role in City Hunter, LMH started receiving personal training sessions on marksmanship, learning the know-hows on accuracy, prior to leaving for Thailand's filming.
Whenever he had time, he would visit the rifle range, and foster his skills with repeated rifle practice. He was able to satisfactorily display shooting skills that are close to that of a pro when in Thailand, thanks to him treating practices as actual warfare.
After being intensively trained, LMH was able to maneuvre anything ranging from a pistol to a shotgun, showing no qualms with the revolver and the rifle, hence perfectly displaying the role of a City Hunter.
Handling a shotgun is not an easy task, since it has to be held in one hand and the person has to endure the exceedingly loud noises the shotgun creates when fired. But LMH boldly held through.
The production company explained saying, "most people tend to get a fright when hearing the sound of guns being fired and they would blink or lean back and relate their distress over the situation. However, LMH showed a natural pose and dignified expression when handling the guns, no matter how loud they were."
"Although his ears were deafened by the sound during the 2 days he filmed with firearms, he showed the spirit of a pro and perfectly assimilated with the filming."
City Hunter is Japan's Hojo Tsukasa's hit project that will be adapted for drama. It has garnered the attention of those in korea due to that reason.

Lee Min Ho & Park Min Young’s Love Judo for “City Hunter”

Actors Lee Min Ho and Park Min Young shared a sizzling judo session for their upcoming drama “City Hunter.” Lee Min Ho plays Lee Yoon Sung, a MIT graduate who works in the Blue House National Communications Team, while Park Min Young plays Kim Nana, a secret service agent and former judo athlete. The two leads will develop a romantic relationship as they bicker away.

On April 29th, Lee Min Ho and Park Min Young met at a gymnasium to film a judo scene. In the scene, Kim Nana (Park Min Young) is coaching Lee Yoon Sung (Lee Min Ho) and other agents of the National Communications Team some basic judo techniques. While Yoon Sung is skilled in various areas, including martial arts, he hides his abilities and plays along Nana’s coaching advice. The two share a heart-stopping moment as Kim Nana pinned down Lee Yoon Sung. Both gaze into each other’s eyes, and it seems as if the two may kiss at any second.

Both actors have been taking judo lessons for two months to make the scenes as real as possible. Their hard work and passion for the production was evident as they completed shooting without a hitch. Actress Park Min Young put in a lot of hours into training for her athletic character. It’s been said that the two leads will have a signature move where Nana throws and pins Yoon Sung over her shoulder.

Representatives of the production crew stated, “Lee Min Ho and Park Min Young trained several months to perfect the moves, and the audience will be able to feel their passion right on the screen. Fans can expect great things from ‘City Hunter.’”

“City Hunter” is based on the best-selling Japanese manga by Hojo Tsukasa, which sold over a million copies just in Korea. The original manga by Tsukasa is set in 1980 Tokyo, but the drama adaptation will take place in modern day Seoul.

“City Hunter” is set to air its first episode May 25th.

Lee Min Ho Fights One VS Twelve for “City Hunter”

Actor Lee Min Ho fought against twelve men for a scene in his upcoming drama “City Hunter.” In early April, he shot a muddy fight sequence, and photos of the shoot have been released. Lee plays multi-talented Lee Yoon Sung, a MIT graduate who works in the Blue House National Communications Team. Not only is Lee Yoon Sung extremely smart, he's also skilled in several areas - including the martial arts.

Even in freezing temperatures, he managed to heat up the set with his powerful moves. He refused to use a stunt double for the scene and fought through the cold rain in nothing but a wife beater and jeans. It’s been said that Lee prepared for this action sequence for some time. As a result, he completed the scene perfectly without any NGs (no good scenes). It was probably hard enough to stand still in the mud, let alone fight and act in it. However, both Lee Min Ho and his action skills still managed to shine despite being covered in mud.

Lee Min Ho received formal martial arts training for several months. He practiced Arnis and Kali, a class of Filipino martial arts that emphasize weapon-based fighting. Many Korean fans became aware of Arnis and Kali through 2010’s blockbuster movie “Ajusshi” starring Won Bin.

He displayed confidence and skill as he performed the scene against twelve other professionals. The rest of the cast and crew were left dazed with his perfect chemistry with the stunt team. Representatives of the production team stated, “Lee Min Ho managed to melt away the freezing temperatures with his passionate hot moves. He’s definitely matured as an actor and became manlier. Fans can expect great things from Lee Min Ho in ‘City Hunter.’”

“City Hunter” is based on the best-selling Japanese manga by Hojo Tsukasa. SBS will broadcast its first episode on May 25th.
